Discover Magnetic Island

Magnetic Island is a island 25 minutes by ferry away from Townsville. As Townsville was a military base, Magnetic Island played an important role in Australia’s military history and the military lookout point on the island can be discovered during the Forts walk. During the hike there is also a high chance of seeing wild Koalas as the island holds one of the largest Koala populations in Australia. There are in general many activities to do an Magnetic island including an animal sanctuary, many beautiful coast or forest walks, beaches and wildlife such as rock wallabies.
